Tanisha is so inspiring! And I admire all of the creative things you do in your home as well. Maeve has been sewing doll clothes, and I think a lot about your daughter and her incredible fashion designs. I hope to make it to Georgia next year on a trip with Dan and would love to connect with you there. I miss you! <3
Love this post. I feel the same about being present in every task, to try to see the beauty and joy in it. Also knowing that we have a God who loves to Create and we were made to take joy in creating things . Loved the encouragement to live life slowly. Even with long lists. Thank you for this post.
Yes, years ago when Jude and Indi were small, someone said, "You can't slow down the train so you better enjoy the ride!" It's so simple and maybe even cliche, but actually, I've never forgotten it all these years later. And somehow it hit differently than "Enjoy every moment!" lol Love you, Elle! I'm grateful we get to do this ride of life together!
I wish I was the kind of person that thought to do all of those things: the meat in the freezer, the meal planning, all of it. The cooking muse rarely whispers in my ear. lol
My daughter is telling me right now that one of the things she loved about your piece is your writing style. She said she appreciated that you didn't try to romanticize life in a saccharine way, but that it is still so charming and inspiring. She said you are "effortlessly charming."
I so deeply appreciate the time, thought and care you put into this piece. I'm so grateful to know you! Thanks for pouring out your creativity and love in this space, even with all you have going on at home. Your words are a gift and so are you. <3
This was so good and I enjoyed it immensely!

I had this same thought! Maybe it's genetic. 😘 This reminds me of Dorothy Sayer's thoughts in The Mind of the Maker.
Also, I love the conversation about slow not being about the speed of life but more so about being intentional with the process of things.

Don’t mind me as I go to my freezer and pull out a few days worth of meat! 😆🙌🏼
🙌🏾 Love it!
