I always love to see your sewing projects and am forever in awe of your capacity to make time for creating! you are the best! hugs from France and congrats on your italian certificate! bravissima!
I am always so happy to hear from you! Indi would like to be a Physician Assistant. It’s a six year program but she is going into college with over a year of college credits so that will make it shorter! Sending you so much love! 💕
I love this post. I love the flowers, robes, and the reflections on the family dynamics as life continues on. Congrats on the Italian Certif!!! Never a dull moment! It was so great to see Jude and I know he will have a great experience at Mayo. Can't wait to see everyone!!!
Oof, I don't know which patterns I purchased off hand, but found on Pinterest...one Tea Party style, which is just classic in my opinion, and one a more modern collared smock- I'm so glad my girls still love me to make them! The Quilt Summer Follow along is through my favorite plant dye//quilter Sarah of Farm & Folk... I have learned so much through her Blog and Book! She is so inspiring.... Good luck to your daughter as she start a new advent!
This all sounds amazing! My daughter Tarikua has a sewing Pinterest board going with a friend and they are also planning to do "thrift flips" where they alter/sew clothes that they find thrifting! Indi has done some amazing flips!
aww WOW I can't believe that Indigo is graduating!! Can that really be your family - they are all so big!! Sidenote: That means that Elliot and Indigo are the same age - I can't believe i never put that together. Elliot is graduating high school next week too, and is headed off to college next fall...waaaah. Loved hearing your thoughts on that transition - I've been thinking a lot about that lately.
Rae, I am trying to remember... is Elliot your oldest? Will he be going far from home? Jude and Indi will be about 3.5 hours away but it's so easy to keep in touch. I think that really helps bridge the distance. Congratulations to Elliot and to you! Can you believe we are parents of adult children?! It's wild!
Yep, Elliot is the oldest. He's going about an hour away from home, and there's a bus service between our towns so hopefully he'll come home and visit occasionally :).
And congrats to you, too!!! It's so fun to watch your babies grow up -- thank you for sharing a little bit of them with us. :)
Those Robes are so beautiful Rachel! I am finally making time to sew again, working on dresses for the girls and a new Quilt project to get me through the Summer heat here on the Gulf Coast.... Congratulations on another Graduate! This year my son moved out as well, joining the US Space Force! And my daughter is off to College this Fall.... it's a strange Mama-Season for me with 2 of the 4 flying the Nest! Envious of those flowers- the best I will get to bloom is hopefully my Sunflowers 🌻 (I can use the seeds for plant dye 😉)
Wow, you have shared so many wonderful and inspiring things! I would love to know what dresses you are sewing and to know more about your quilting project! That is something I want to do someday! My 18 year old, Indi, decided to make a quilt for a mentor who was having a baby and I was so proud of her! I have not done a lot of quilting.
I was surprised by how our family dynamics changed after our eldest left. Suddenly, there is a new oldest child in the house. I felt like Indi rose to the occasion and really came into her own. So I am looking forward to seeing how the change shapes Tarikua next. Also, I have been trying to grow sunflowers and even though they grow easily even along the freeway, I seem to have trouble getting them to grow in my own backyard! Using them for plant dye is extra inspiring!
